Don’t Look Back in Anger: Oasis reunion documentary to screen at Belgian cinemas
2025 marked the long-awaited reconciliation between Mancunian brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, bringing their iconic band, Oasis, back to the live stage after 16 years apart.
Known for anthems such as ‘Live Forever’, ‘Rock ’n’ Roll Star’, ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’, ‘Supersonic’ and ‘Wonderwall’, Oasis were one of the most influential and commercially successful bands of the 1990s. They achieved global success with their 1994 debut album, ‘Definitely Maybe’, which sold 15 million copies worldwide during the era of physical media.
Their second album, ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, took their success to another level, achieving 7× Platinum certification across the UK, US, Canada and Australia and catapulting the band to international superstardom. Oasis went on to release five more studio albums before their eventual split in 2009.
By then, what the brothers described as their “irreconcilable differences”, combined with years of tension and frequent clashes both on and off stage, had made it increasingly difficult for them to continue working together. Their breakup brought one of the defining stories of Britpop to an end—until, 16 years later, Noel and Liam finally reconciled and Oasis returned to the stage, joined by a mix of longtime collaborators and new band members: Paul Arthurs and Gem Archer on guitar, Andy Bell on bass, and Joey Waronker on drums.
The highly anticipated Oasis Live ’25 tour comprised 41 sold-out dates between July and December 2025. Beginning in Cardiff on July 4, the tour travelled across the UK and Ireland before reaching North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. Over six months, Oasis performed in front of an estimated three million people, turning every concert into a global celebration of rock, friendship and ’90s nostalgia shared by several generations of fans.
Every moment of the historic reunion was captured on camera by a young and exceptionally talented media team—Joshua Halling, Jay Davinson, Harriett Bols and Daniel Broadley—who took on the enormous challenge of documenting the tour from the inside. But the fans didn’t know that the media team was not alone. Alongside them, another crew was quietly filming, capturing the story for a documentary that would reveal what was happening behind the scenes of Oasis’ long-awaited return.
Directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern and written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), the 'Don't Look Back in Anger' documentary follows Oasis throughout their landmark 2025 reunion tour. Featuring rehearsal, backstage, and onstage footage, the film also includes the first joint interview with Liam and Noel Gallagher in more than 15 years, offering a rare and intimate insight into the brothers’ relationship after their long estrangement.
Unfiltered, emotional, and genuinely inspiring, the film captures the scale of one of the biggest musical events of 2025 through the eyes of both the band and their fans worldwide. Beyond the sold-out stadiums and spectacular live performances, it explores the profound emotional impact of Oasis’ return and the significance of this extraordinary global cultural moment. At its heart is a celebration of what the band’s music continues to mean to multiple generations of fans across the world.
The documentary will be released on September 9 in IMAX and Laser Ultra 2D formats at selected cinemas in Belgium.
