Rising pop duo Haute & Freddy are coming to Brussels

On Friday 6 November, Haute & Freddy bring their Big Disgrace Tour to Brussels for an intimate show at the Botanique Rotonde. This rising duo is one of the most fun live bands in pop right now: 80s synths, big choruses, old royal costumes and a lot of dancing. The Guardian even described their music as 80s synth-pop in royal style.
Haute & Freddy are a pop duo from Los Angeles: Michelle Buzz ("Haute") and Lance Shipp ("Freddy"). Before the band, they both wrote songs for other artists. Michelle wrote for Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue, and Lance wrote and produced for Britney Spears and Calvin Harris. When they got tired of writing for others, they decided to step in front of the microphone and make their own music.
With the music came a whole story. Haute and Freddy say they are two circus performers who ran away, and that the King and Queen of a fantasy kingdom banned them because their songs were "too indecent". Their fans are called the Royal Court, and they love to play along, talking and dressing as if they lived centuries ago.
It all started with their first single, "Scantily Clad", in 2024. Spotify quickly added it to big playlists and put it on the cover of its Fresh Finds playlist. From there, things moved fast. After the single "Anti-Superstar", Spotify chose them as one of its Artists to Watch for 2026. "Shy Girl" has been used in five films and TV shows, and their music is all over the new Carrie series on Prime Video, where the main character even wears a Haute & Freddy T-shirt.
In 2025, they sold out their "Mini Grand Tour" in the US. In January 2026, they signed with Atlantic Records, and in March they released their first album, Big Disgrace. Since then, a lot more people are talking about them: NPR interviewed them, the UK magazine Dork called them one of the hottest names in pop, and even Lady Gaga is a fan.
Their live shows are truly remarkable. Every tour has a costume theme, and a mime clown makes balloon crowns for the crowd. The duo even invites fans on stage and makes up songs about people in the audience. Many reviewers agree that they are not only musicians, but they are real entertainers. There is also a personal side: Lance has said that making this music helped him heal. That mix of fun, escape, and emotion is why their fanbase keeps growing.
Do you love 80s synth-pop and big choruses? Alternative pop and electro with a camp, kitsch style? Dressing up for concerts? Do you want a safe and happy place to dance, or just a concert that feels like a real show? Then come and join the Royal Court at Botanique this November. Costumes are encouraged!
