NEW MUSIC FRIDAY: Carla Biber, Pierre de Maere, Celenges, Sophia Haze and more

💿 Carla Biber releases new EP 'I Might Be The Problem', featuring single 'Bada-Boom' and 'Danish Girl'. Carla has carried out a crowdfunding on Ulule to finance part of the steps of its release, as well as a residency at the CC Chênée accompanied by the Studio des Variétés in early September 2026, in order to prepare the release party of the EP on October 10, 2026.
"'I Might Be the Problem' is the question that remains to me at the end of these few songs, a question that I have been asking myself since the beginning of my 20s", she said.
A drummer seen in a number of Belgian projects (Camille Yembe, Lou K, Oberbaum or Bruant), Carla had a metamorphosis in 2026, under her own name, with this first EP inspired in 80s pop with structures in crescendo Inveterate, melancholy, vengeful and self-deprecation. She made a name for herself in the months before the announcement of her solo project, after becoming the first female drummer to graduate in jazz drums at CRB and Conservatorium Maastricht.
💿 Brussels artist, Celenges unveils 'Pressure', an original single that fuses house, melodic rap and futuristic electronic textures. Driven by an immediate dance energy, the track is distinguished by the alternation between rapped verses, melodic chorus and impactful house production. Through 'Pressure', Celenges explores self-acceptance, confidence and freedom to express oneself without conforming to external expectations. A title both dancing, personal and assertive.
💿 It is with some idea of the flamboyance that Pierre de Maere made a smashing entry into French-speaking pop. In a few months, he breathed his taste in panache, mixing feverish romanticism, biting irony and a keen sense of performance. Male revelation at the Victoires de la musique 2023, carried by a first album 'Regarde-moi' (certified platinum), Pierre de Maere seduces – without ever taking himself seriously – and imposes himself, with a disconcerting ease and freedom. This week he releases his second album 'Ave Maere'. A more personal record, nourished by lived stories and on which he was particularly involved. The Belgian artist also tells himself about his beginnings, perfectionism, inspirations and his desire to highlight young creators.
💿 'Phoenix' is the new album by Sophia Haze, including the single 'Patti' released last week. With a genuine and poetic songwriting, Sophia Haze will transport you in her world, experiences, where the light always shine. After releasing her singles 'Window' (2024), 'Shooting my feet' (2025), and 'The Very Beginning' (2025), this record shows another facet of the artist with more rock influences. Haze will present it live on 25 September at The Projection Room in Brussels. Do not miss it!.
💿 Grand-Mer presents new single 'Travailler C'est De La D', another taste of their upcoming album 'Tenir La Nuit', out in November. The Brussels-based duo explores the boundary between laughter and melancholy through rap driven by spellbinding electronic music. The project transforms the absurdity of everyday life and bouts of the blues into disenchanted club anthems.
💿 Girls In Hawaii is back with a new album and a European tour this autumn. The album 'Eldorado', marks a new chapter in a story that began at the dawn of the 21st century reconnecting resolutely with the alternative DNA of a band looking to the future. With 'Eldorado', the band delivers their first studio album since 'Nocturne' (2017). Formed in the early 2000s, Girls In Hawaii has established itself over the years as a staple of the European indie rock scene.
💿 'Honest & Almost' is the title of the new EP by Kimberly Penez, including her latest single 'Make Him My Ex'.
