JAM Sonor, a new music hub with concert rooms opens in Brussels at the former MIMA

After several proposals including a Pride/LGBTIQ Museum, finally the former MIMA Museum in Brussels will become a music hub called JAM Sonor. Owned by Jam Hotels in collaboration with Volta, the venue plans to organise weekly concerts at the site and offer rehearsal rooms, production facilities and shared workspaces spread over four floors for artists and spaces for events including its rooftop.

It will be a new cultural place, dedicated to music, artistic development and live performances. Listening sessions and concerts are also organised. “We’ll start the first three months with an exhibition by Yaqine Hamzaoui. In November, there’ll be an exhibition featuring sound installations,” said Arne Huysmans of Volta. “For the concerts, we’re targeting young talent, but also artists who are already recognised. This includes both national and international artists".

JAM Sonor will open its doors on the weekend of 2 and 3 October, with a special programme featuring talks, listening sessions, a music exhibition, concerts and DJ sets and you can register for FREE here. Every week, the space will host two music events as well as industry gatherings and rooftop events from spring 2027.

This new concert venue has already some confirmed shows like French singer Blowsom, performing on 17 November.
