These are some of the most exciting releases by Belgian artists this week:
💿 Silhe Hamers releases 'Securité Illégal', a new single in French, but she kept secretive about details on this new track.
💿 Cantavanda presents 'DIZZY', a French cover and translation of the song 'Memai' by the Japanese 'visual-kei' rock band 'SANBIKA', from 1997. SANBIKA was led by Masanori Yabuki, who also wrote a lot of their songs, and gave full permission for releasing this cover. The band was quite obscure in Japan, with a very small, but loyal fanbase, even back in the days when they were active. The cover was recorded in ROAD Studio in Deinze, with a full band of professional session musicians. All musicians played the song live in one room, it was an amazing experience. It sounds like it was recorded in the 70s in some ways. It has bossanova guitar, jazz piano, a strong disco beat, and dreamy vocals and synthesizers. It talks about unrequited love.
💿 Tom Ymani is a Belgian singer-songwriter, living part-time in Paris, with a passion for singing. Today the artist presents new dance-pop / electro-pop single 'Encore Plus', evoking this intoxicating feeling of falling under the spell of someone: the excitement of wanting to get closer to the other, and falling in love with the latter mixed with the awareness that these feelings may not be reciprocal, do not share the same sexual orientation or are already in a relationship.
💿 Sosotysha releases new single 'groove tonight', the last one before her new EP is out later this year.
💿 Percy premieres the music video for 'Marathonien', a song for those who know that nothing is built in a sprint, and second single of the EP 'AMÉTHYSTE', coming soon.
"There is no "overnight successes" here, there is only resilience and faith. We move forward, we fall, we start again... but we continue the race. Because in the end, everyone runs their own marathon", he said.
