Holly Humberstone returns to Belgium this September

Following her intimate show at AB Club in February, British singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone is returning to Belgium, with her second album, 'Cruel World', released in April.
The follow-up to her debut album, 'Paint My Bedroom Black', finds Humberstone entering a new phase of artistic and personal maturity, further establishing her as one of the most distinctive voices among the new generation of British singer-songwriters. Her emotionally precise songwriting and cinematic sound capture the uncertainty, intensity and quiet turmoil of coming of age. Through songs such as Die Happy, To Love Somebody and the title track, Cruel World introduces a more confident and expansive chapter in her career.
Since first introducing her Cruel World era to Brussels audiences at Ancienne Belgique in the beginning of this year, Humberstone has taken the album around the world, performing at Coachella, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, BST Hyde Park, Mad Cool, Summer Sonic and Reading & Leeds festival. She has also brought the record to television audiences through Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Saturday Night Live UK, Later… with Jools Holland and Sunday Brunch. Following another Belgian appearance at Lokerse Feesten this summer, she now returns to Brussels for an intimate headline show in Brussels, at Botanique this September.
Joining Humberstone throughout her European tour is Irish singer-songwriter Nell Mescal. Originally from Maynooth, Mescal began sharing original music online in 2020 before leaving school and moving to London at 18 to pursue music full-time. Although she is also known as actor Paul Mescal’s younger sister, she has steadily built an artistic identity of her own through emotionally direct and deeply personal songwriting. Her recent work includes the EP The Closest We’ll Get and the 2026 singles Kissing the Ground and Settles.
Mescal draws inspiration from artists across genres and generations, including Phoebe Bridgers, Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, Billy Joel and Paul Simon. What connects them, for her, is their ability to resonate emotionally with listeners and remind them that, however difficult things may feel, they are not alone.
“If I can write a song that makes someone feel something in any capacity or give them some kind of release, that was always my number one thing,” she explains. “I didn’t want to write a song that someone just listened to and said, ‘Oh, this is nice.’ I want them to actually feel something and sit there and think about it.”
